On my test machine it took 1m12s to build Cassandra, and 4m6s to run this check
the first time. The second time with things cached the check took 57s. I'm
not sure doubling the build time is acceptable for every commit, but certainly
we need to ensure we keep whatever that is caching around since a 5x increase
isn't tenable.
