One question but I'm a +1 pending that: currently the test just spins 5 times
to try and read the index file. I think adding a very small sleep (20ms for
example) between each attempt to read would make this a bit more robust as
that'd give the kernel scheduler more chances to put the CDC index file writer
to the front of the queue to execute for our next read.
Based on your opinion of the above, CI looks good and the patch looks good. So
take it or leave it on commit.
