So the timeout exception is a probably schema disagreement problem - I could
reproduce it reliably for for 4.1 and 4.0 as well, so it is not introduced by
either CASSANDRA-17044 or CASSANDRA-17658. From what I found so far this is
some problem in {{MigrationCoordinator}} which does not let to pull the schema
due to some conditions which decide whether to pull or not. I'll keep
investigating.
The NPE problem is probably solely related to reset schema functionality, the
request to get the schema gets expired before it is sent. I'm going to try a
simple retry for this problem, but first want to figure out the timeout thing.
