There is no way we will support writing at some version while not supporting 
reading in that version, so no worries in that regards.
Mixed tables versions is allowed as a temporary state, just because of the 
performance considerations. Compaction, scrubbing, etc. - all of those tasks 
can read sstable at any supported version and they will produce an sstable in 
the write version.
