The first commit removes support for empty values on the vector type. 

The second commit changes the method {{AbstractType#allowsEmpty}} to be false 
by default, so future new data types tend to follow this convention.

I'll add the PR for {{trunk}} if this one looks good. Most probably it will be 
very similar, if not identical.
