To provide better observability into the performance of rolling restarts and
future operational jobs, we should add support for collecting metrics. Some
potential metrics for rolling restarts could include time to restart nodes and
success rate of node restarts. General operational job metrics could include
average operation time and success rate.
This should not be a requirement to finish the rolling restart implementation
but a nice improvement to have in future iterations.
