Thanks for the detailed analysis! You are absolutely right.
I was focused on the {{at.yawk}} library change because the test kept passing
for me locally when I ran it using {_}{{ant testsome ...
-Dcassandra.test.compression=true}}{_}. I realize now that {{build.xml}} sets
up specific configurations for the compression test suite that my manual
command missed, which explains why I couldn't reproduce the
{{{}CorruptSSTableException{}}}.
I see the logic change in commit {{ff78780d}} now. I will proceed by:
# Verifying the failure locally using the {{run-tests.sh}} script.
# Updating the PR to gate the data-file read on {{extendedVerification}} in
{{{}BigTableVerifier{}}}, as Sam suggested.
