The PR makes sense to me so I've added a +1.
To be clear: I view this as something of a short-term fix. It would be nice to
_remove_ pyasyncore once the asyncio reactor is stabilized and becomes the
default but that's proven harder to accomplish than we expected. Consequently
this fix makes a great deal of sense as an intermediate solution.
