h3. *Background*
Following the resolution of CASSANDRA-20997, {{cqlsh}} now supports Python
versions up to *Python 3.13* (included in versions {{{}5.0.9{}}}, {{{}6.0{}}},
{{{}7.0{}}}).
h3. *Issue*
The [Installing Cassandra
documentation|https://cassandra.apache.org/doc/latest/cassandra/installing/installing.html]
under the *Prerequisites* section still states:
"To use the CQL shell {{{}cqlsh{}}}, install the latest version of Python
3.8-3.11."
This is outdated and can cause confusion for users setting up Cassandra on
newer Linux distributions shipping with Python 3.12 or 3.13.
