Lakshay Madan Gopal commented on CASSANDRA-18254:
-------------------------------------------------
Hi, I'm a new contributor and I'd like to pick this up if it's still available.
I've gone through CASSANDRA-17698 for context, and my understanding is that
this ticket is the companion that applies the lighter fix (printing the failing
clustering key as raw bytes) to the older branches, while the full fix from
17698 covers the versions where the sstable version can change.
Before I start, I wanted to confirm the current scope. Since 17698 was resolved
back in 2023, and 3.0.x and 3.11.x are now End of Life, could someone clarify
which branches this fix is still needed on? I want to make sure I target the
currently maintained ones (4.1.x and trunk, for instance) rather than branches
that are no longer active.
My plan is to update the JSON serialization path so that when sstabledump hits
the PartitionerDefinedOrder clustering key from a secondary index sstable, it
prints the raw bytes instead of throwing UnsupportedOperationException,
following the approach outlined here.
Happy to adjust based on any guidance. Thanks!
