bq. So I guess it is more of a cqlsh problem that shouldn't use the thrift
describe call for CQL3.
The main problem here from my perspective is that it was impossible to insert
data into the column family except with cqlsh. Using a basic thrift batch
mutate failed on the validation step because it tried to validate the value in
the sum column as text (default_validation_class).
