Thanks a lot for the logs everyone.
The problem was with the handling of sstables having the same first and last
token. More precisely, Bounds.contains uses Range.contains(), but while the
Range (a, a] selects the whole ring, the Bounds [a,a] only selects a. This
means sstable with the same first and last on level N+1 were included in
compaction of any sstable of level N even when there wasn't any intersection.
Attaching simple patch to fix.
