The problem with a centralized gitignore here is there are multiple IDEs with
various files to be ignored; your patch for instance ignores IDEA and favors
eclipse. We could try and find the perfect combination of ignores that would
satisfy everyone, but how much overhead is there to maintain your own locally?
I haven't touched mine since 2009.
