The c*-beta1 tar and deb packages went out without a working cassandra-stress,
which should be fixed in the packaging (CASSANDRA-6762). I built the current
java-driver and dropped it into cassandra-2.1 branch to verify the c* version
check changes work OK, and I get /0 errors running stress. (stress with the
2.0.0-rc3 driver currently in tools/lib/ works if 'ant -Dbase.version=2.1.0
...' is passed at c* build time)
