Okay, so #1 is now
[here|https://github.com/belliottsmith/cassandra/tree/iss-6689-1]
It also includes necessary patches not yet incorporated from CASSANDRA-6692,
and redefines CellName.dataSize() to return the size on disk, not the size of
the components, but otherwise only performs all the necessary refactoring.
