Ryan Svihla commented on CASSANDRA-7835:
----------------------------------------

so Aleksey in use cases where a lot of batching is used (say related column
families) and a DC is down due to say major event like Hurricane Sandy..the
nodes are lost. The batch has started and the first part of it has gone out.

We now have data inconsistency. Basically our batches are only reliable within
the context of a single data center

> Atomic batches with an option to specifcy RF-1 batch log entries

> Some users seem to be concerned with there only being 2 batch log entries on
> a write and would like more guarantees on consistency, potentially even
> spanning data centers in exchange for less performance.
> Would like the option to have these span data centers.
