@shwstppr cc @DaanHoogland @GutoVeronezi thanks for getting the issue fixed and PR merged, could you review if we must do the following: 1. Add in release notes about this change in behaviour for 4.19/4.18.2 for users; review/update the docs if required on what users should expect 2. Add smoketests around failure scenarios (vm -> volume snasphot -> create template -> deploy vm from snapshot) so we can catch any potential regressions/issues 3. (optional) Review template delete operation/API handling, I think the UI should warn users who may be deleting templates for which linked-snapshots may exist. Force deletion may not be allowed for such cases that can potentially cause data loss (or invalid linked snapshots). I think even with the issue fixed, there might be many users with affected snapshots which may have backing file in prod. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
