Here is the list of notes from our last meeting.
–Summer School: August 2016 (either Aug 15 or Aug 22)

–RCMES Collaboration: need to identify functions that we want to make web
services out of. Chengxing will review their tools and recommend a few
functions to work on.

–Infusion project is approved, funding is on the way.
–
–Development System: New docker image is running in cmda, cmda-test. Update OS
for another server. Play framework issue is being investigated (still no clear
understanding, java container). Check the docker default configuration for CPU
cores and memory. Merge the old repository to new repository. Deploy the docker
image to Cloud. Provenance collection web services need to be updated. The CMU
provenance/recommendation system should run in the docker image. Can their
system handle two servers (one server running the recommendation system,
another server holding the provenance data base). GPU server (Cuda toolkit
installed). Apache incubator monthly report is due soon. JIRA ticketing system
is being used. Community building for Apache incubator program graduation
(summer student, RCMES folks, Namrata, PODAAC)

–Analysis Tools: Handle daily data products, 2D & 3D services to be merged,
moving from Octave to Python to solve the plotting problem. Anomaly service is
complete. Main action buttons to be colorful (green). Add URL information to
the output file of anomaly.

–Visualization: interactive/dynamic visualization –BOKEH python package, found
another package called plotly, free version, I will contact George Chang’s
group (web-portal).

–Workflow: Anomaly service (front end is updated, back end is in development).
Time series service (convention for passing information from the previous
service), Namrata to develop convention. Hash code,
–Data Sets: CMIP5 model data, Obs4MIPs data, ECMWF profile data (3D wind
field), Frank’s data, Terry’s data, Anal4MIPs data, PODAAC data, Impact of
bringing more data in cloud performance, Restructuring dataset identification
(source) so that it can support multiple layers to define a dataset source.
