nhhockeyplayer commented on issue #209: ionic cordova platform add - fails to update build.gradle with proper android gradle plugin URL: https://github.com/apache/cordova/issues/209#issuecomment-611622372 last july i identified gradle source file in the archetype hardwired to gradle version 4 completely wiping out android studio and its upgrade gradle mechanisms by corrupting and downloading artifacts and confusing the whole underlying build system this looks and seems to be another BUG of hardwiring we can do better
