Hi Hasso,

I was hoping this commit would fix my canoscan usb scanner, but alas not.
There was a recent post in users@ from another person with the same problem,
i.e. the scanner appears properly in dmesg at /dev/uscanner0 but sane says
there is no scanner at /dev/uscanner0.

But -- I just discovered that the scanner works if I unplug it before boot
and then plug it in after the system is up.

Does this sound like something that could be fixed without too much trouble?
