Regis Thomas commented on DAFFODIL-2593:
----------------------------------------
I have been working on the dfdl:format section that normally predefines the
format for most properties. I am leaning toward auto completing a boilerplate
format with a default for each format property. In the current implementation
all available properties (that I know of) have a pre-defined value. A user can
tab to each property and press ctrl+space to get a list of dropdown options, or
accept the default and tab to the next option. I guessed at the defaults. I
don't have enough experience building dfdl schemas to know if defaults are
better than having a user select a value for each property. Also I'm not sure
what value are the best for defaults. I'll create another animated GIF to show
how the dfdl:format implementation is currently working and attach it also. for
feedback

> I am looking for some feedback on a work in progress on a VS Code Extension
> for DFDL language auto completion. The extension is based on a TypeScript
> sample. Attached is an animated GIF showing a schema written with the auto
> completion extension. The extension is still "plain-text" so no key word
> coloration. Any feedback/suggestions appreciated.
