Mike Beckerle commented on DAFFODIL-2402:
-----------------------------------------

Increasing priority as part of Java 21 (LTS) where floating point results are
slighly different.

In addition to allowing type-aware comparison so that floating point values can
be compared by

```
if(Math.abs(A - B) < epsilon)
```

we will also need the ability to specify, per test, or per test suite, the
epsilon value to be used, for doubles, and for floats.

> TDML language should support xsi:type annotation of infoset for double and
> float, perhaps more.

> The TDML runner currently accepts xsi:type annotations on infosets and does
> type-specific comparisons for date/time/dateTime types.
> This should be extended to allow at least double and float types also, and
> possibly other types.
> For integers it doesn't matter much, but perhaps for decimal (trailing zeros
> issues).
