See this reference: https://classic.yarnpkg.com/blog/2016/11/24/lockfiles-for-all/. There are many more references on this topic if you google it. Alternatively, ask ChatGPT "Should I commit yarn.lock to my git repository?" I think the main hang up here is the `.lock` extension, and the knee-jerk reaction that is causes.
