   > +1 but should wet update the test files in
containers/check-release/src/check-release.sh to read exe.sha256 instead of
exe.sha512?

This only affects the signatures that are embedded in the exe files by
jsign. The detached checksums are separate and still use sha512.

The goal of these embedded signatures is to make it so when you install
daffodil using the exe on windows it doesn't have a big warning about an
unknown publisher and that the exe is untrusted. We still recommend that people
verify the .sha512 and .asc gpg signatures after downloading the files.
