### Search before asking - [x] I had searched in the [issues](https://github.com/apache/doris-flink-connector/issues?q=is%3Aissue) and found no similar issues. ### Version master @ 9550f9a0ebb16d95964ec65340f877b120f15403 (2026-11-05). ### What's Wrong? With `source.scan.mode = 'initial'`, the switch from the snapshot phase to the incremental phase happens only in `notifyCheckpointComplete()`, once a checkpoint taken after all snapshot readers went idle has completed ([DorisSourceEnumerator.java#L178-L215](https://github.com/apache/doris-flink-connector/blob/9550f9a0ebb16d95964ec65340f877b120f15403/flink-doris-connector/flink-doris-connector-base/src/main/java/org/apache/doris/flink/source/enumerator/DorisSourceEnumerator.java#L178-L215), `shouldEnterStreamPhase()` at [#L284-L289](https://github.com/apache/doris-flink-connector/blob/9550f9a0ebb16d95964ec65340f877b120f15403/flink-doris-connector/flink-doris-connector-base/src/main/java/org/apache/doris/flink/source/enumerator/DorisSourceEnumerator.java#L284-L289)). If checkpointing is not enabled, no checkpoint ever completes. The job reads the snapshot and then idles forever without reading any changes, and it reports no error or warning. The source builder validates the other incremental options ([DorisSource.java#L215-L270](https://github.com/apache/doris-flink-connector/blob/9550f9a0ebb16d95964ec65340f877b120f15403/flink-doris-connector/flink-doris-connector-flink1/src/main/java/org/apache/doris/flink/source/DorisSource.java#L215-L270)) but not this requirement; the documentation only says to enable checkpointing. ### What You Expected? Either fail fast, or at least log a clear warning, when `initial` runs without checkpointing, or allow the phase switch without a checkpoint. ### How to Reproduce? 1. Run a job with `source.scan.mode = 'initial'` and no `execution.checkpointing.interval`. 2. Wait until the snapshot finishes, then insert rows into the source table. 3. No change events are emitted, and nothing in the logs explains why. ### Anything Else?
