The change from CREATE to ALTER looks reasonable and aligns with the SQL command reference for these MV operations. Since this reuses the existing privilege checks and updates the error messages consistently, additional privilege tests would be useful but are not a blocker for this small change. Please also update the user documentation: the async materialized view overview (https://doris.apache.org/docs/dev/query-acceleration/materialized-view/async-materialized-view/functions-and-demands/) still says that pause/resume/cancel/refresh require CREATE privilege. Please make it consistent with ALTER and note that existing users with only CREATE privilege will need ALTER privilege after this change. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
