pdeva edited a comment on issue #6171: hetrogenous peon configurations URL: https://github.com/apache/incubator-druid/issues/6171#issuecomment-412719814 i think you can just add 1 extra field to supervisor spec: `memoryPerWorkerThread` The peon will use this field along with the `workerThreads` field to set the -XX:directMemorySize parameter of the peons. This way you are properly exposing `workerThreads` param in a way that wouldnt crash the peon and allows users to have hetrogenous peons
