I haven't had the time I'd hoped to have over the past month to finish this up, so the code stands at about the same place: code is complete and working as expected, but the necessary pieces to make this actually useful (documentation) is still in progress. The outstanding work is to sanitize the writer configs, document everything, and figure out how to test this with other deep storage and metadata server technologies (we run this with segments stored on S3 and use a MySQL instance for our metadata server).
