The gotcha seems to be that the Builder is not used with defaults when we are serializing from what is in metastore. Someone who is starting with a fresh deployment would get the new default for the added config. But someone just doing an upgrade doesn't benefit from the defaults in the Builder class -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
