### Description
This is a minor improvement in Kafka ingestion.
KafkaConsumer.poll always returns an instance of list, we don't need to
instantiate an object by ourselves.
Since this function could be called very frequently during ingestion, this
improvement could save object allocation and garbage collection.
For Kinesis ingestion, there's no such problem.
