I agree, there is a problem with bars on a time axis. Perhaps because bars require at least one pixel of width, and their display cannot be appropriately accommodated when multiple bars are squeezed on the same value. In your example, one can see the tooltips for the first days of April, but the bars are invisible. There is no problem with **scatter** and line series on a time axis because they are "immaterial" (no width).
