By the way there is feature in Java 17+ that could be used instead of method
public record DoubleFormatter(double value) {
public String format() {
return String.format(value % 1.0 == 0 ? "%.1f" : "%.2f", value);
}
}
Then use it like below
String formatted = new DoubleFormatter(5.00).format();
