### Feature Request Follow https://devguide.python.org/versions/ to schedule removal of support for old versions of python. Concretely, we should immediately drop 3.8 which was EOL last year, and 3.9 after 2025-10. This will allow us to modernize the code base. ### Is your feature request related to a problem?
