@waukin The error is produced by the code block you commented out:
```java
if (!tableEntities.isEmpty()) {
throw new NonEmptyEntityException(
"Entity %s has sub-entities, you should remove sub-entities first",
identifier);
}
```
The root cause is the inconsistency of gravitino storage and the underlying
catalog.
We should return the operation results of the underlying catalog instead of
gravitino storage.
