LuciferYang opened a new issue, #13850:
URL: https://github.com/apache/gravitino/issues/13850

   ### What would you like to be improved?

   With `fs.gravitino.filesetMetadataCache.cache.enable=true` (Java) or
`enable_fileset_metadata_cache=True` (Python), every GVFS operation still loads
the catalog, schema and fileset from the server while building the filesystem
properties. `BaseGVFSOperations.getAllProperties` and
`_merge_fileset_properties` call the client directly instead of the cache-aware
accessors, so enabling the cache does not remove these three requests.

This came in with #12572, which added the secrets merge. Before it, both
clients took the catalog and schema from the cache-aware accessors. #12572 is
not in any release yet.

#12856 describes this as one of three causes of duplicated REST calls per
operation. This issue covers only the cache-enabled part.

   ### How should we improve?

When the metadata cache is enabled, take the catalog, schema and fileset
from the cache in both clients. Secrets and static credentials are not cached
and are still fetched on every call. With the cache disabled, the loads stay as
they are.
