I can only speculate, but it really has no effect on the issue at hand. Within
the RDP protocol, there exists only a mechanism for providing an arbitrary name
for the redirected drive. There is no mechanism for defining the drive letter
assigned to that drive. Regardless of what Windows does internally and why,
there is simply no means that any RDP client can control the drive letter.
