The REST APIs implemented by extensions currently do not get passed through the
same RESTExceptionWrapper that the REST API of the main web application does,
which makes generating human-readable error messages difficult. The extension
loader needs to be modified such that the RESTExceptionWrapper is applied to
the extensions in addition to the main REST interface.
