---------------------------------
Hello,
Many thanks for your reply.
1. After a few tests it is apparent that just 500 lines of text/numbers like
this is enough: http://pastebin.com/8cPa4qth
2. Initially the issue was noticed in Excel 2007 but I can reproduce it in
notepad or any application I can copy text from.
3. I have been testing with 11.672.10586.0
4. IE11 on Windows 7 and windows 10 both suffer from the issue.
5. Can reproduce with Notepad and Excel 2007/2016
6. Windows 2012 R2 (6.3.9600)
I can share videos of the issue or test with other browser
versions/applications if it helps at all?
Kind regards,
> Clipboard sharing can crash IE

> Using internet explorer 11 with "programmatic clipboard access enabled" you
> can crash the browser and consume high CPU on the client when placing a large
> amount of data on the clipboard. (1600 lines of text is enough)
> A work around is to disable "Programmatic clipboard access" - While this
> works on other browsers and is almost certainly an IE 11 issue it would be a
> good feature to detect the client browser and disable this functionality to
> prevent a crash.
