Michael Jumper commented on GUACAMOLE-134:

[~visphantom], please don't open a bug report if you simply have a question
about Guacamole. Use the mailing lists instead:

How to use JPEG or WebP encoding? I need to manually use JPEG or WebP encoding?
{quote}

It will happen automatically for rapidly-updating areas of the screen. JPEG or
WebP will be used if heuristics built into Guacamole determine they will likely
compress better than PNG. If Guacamole determines that PNG will likely
outperform JPEG/WebP, then they will not be used, regardless of how rapidly the
screen is changing.
