When you run the demo (step - 2), after running deltastreamer for MOR, verify there is only one ".deltacommit" file and no ".commit" in http://namenode:50070/explorer.html#/user/hive/warehouse/stock_ticks_mor/.hoodie The demo link you pointed was recently updated to reflect it.
