@garyli1019 actually @umehrot2 's approach there is wrapping the FileFormat as opposed to extending, which is great as well.. If you can wait, we can land the bootstrap changes and rework this on top. But, I feel what you will be doing here is a very different merge than @umehrot2 's PR and the code to wrap ParquetFileFormat is not that large.. So you can also in parallel just proceed? Do you just want the two util classes landed?
