### Change Logs There is some behavior divergence across base and log files. If user explicitly override the list of columns to index, we were generating stats for base files, but missing to generate it for log files. Also, on the pruning side, nested fields were ignored. So, for now we are cleaning up to unify the behavior. no nested fields are supported at the moment. We have filed a follow up jira (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HUDI-8582) to add nested field support properly for col stats. ### Impact Code clean up and consistent col stats behavior. ### Risk level (write none, low medium or high below) low ### Documentation Update _Describe any necessary documentation update if there is any new feature, config, or user-facing change.
