@danny0405 is there any way we can proceed here?
The reason why making it "partition safe" is not valid is because the map is
going to need to resize eventually so you cannot escape the need for the write
lock on your map. The concurrent hashmap has some optimizations around this and
we are relying on those for the efficiency of the in-memory only option today.
If we want to continue relying on that functionality for the safety, we
would need to build something similar for the spillable map implementation.
