## Summary
Requesting that Apache Hudi continue supporting Spark 3.3 (artifact + bundle
publication, critical bug fixes) through **June 2027**, after which we will
have completed our migration to a newer Spark version i.e. 3.5.8.
## Context
We operate one of the larger production Hudi deployments, with thousands of
tables managed by the Hudi writers and a large fleet of Spark 3.3 based readers
and writers across our analytics and ML platforms.
Our Spark 3.3 deployment is shared across many other (non-Hudi) workloads,
so the upgrade path to a newer Spark version is coupled to a broader platform
migration that is currently planned to complete by **June 2027**.
## What we are asking for
Until **June 2027**, please keep:
1. **`hudi-spark3.3-bundle_2.12`** and related `*-spark3.3` artifacts
published in the regular release cadence.
2. **Critical bug fixes** (data correctness, query correctness,
table-format compatibility) backported to the spark3.3 module — feature work is
not required.
3. **Compatibility tests** for spark3.3 in CI, so regressions are caught
before release.
We are not asking the community to invest in new features for the spark3.3
module — only that the existing surface stay buildable, releasable, and correct.
