This issue was reviewed as part of the JIRA-migrated backlog triage. Findings: adding an index key field directly to HoodieKey (HUDI-2154) was implemented and then explicitly reverted (commit in PR #3173) in favor of a runtime index-key mechanism; bucket index shipped without adding the field to HoodieKey, and the parent epic (HUDI-3039) is closed.
