This issue was reviewed as part of the JIRA-migrated backlog triage. Findings: this describes an incomplete feature, not a bug. Currently supported: the BUCKET index with SIMPLE and CONSISTENT_HASHING engine types. Pending: the proposed RANGE_BUCKET engine (bucketId = primaryKey / stepSize for auto-increment keys). The original PR #6636 was closed unmerged; a follow-up PR #6858 remains open and would need rebase/review to land. Keeping open.
