Findings: this is an open-ended maintenance/dev task (JIRA HUDI-940, type Task, Reopened, under epic HUDI-1239), not a bug - a standing request to audit and remove dead/bad configs and code (the motivating example being #1654). There is no specific acceptance criteria, reproducer, or linked deliverable, and no single PR resolves it; config/code cleanup is done incrementally across many PRs. To make this actionable, it is best tracked as concrete, scoped sub-tasks (e.g. 'deprecate/remove config X', 'remove dead code path Y') rather than one evergreen umbrella.
