This issue was reviewed as part of the JIRA-migrated backlog triage. Findings: this is a devtask under the open epic HUDI-6709 (Multi Table Transactions). Verified on current master that HoodieCatalog still extends DelegatingCatalogExtension (HoodieCatalog.scala:58), meaning database/namespace operations only work by delegation to the Spark session catalog when configured as spark_catalog; no PR referencing HUDI-6744 has been merged, and although the JIRA carries fixVersion 1.1.0, releases 1.1.x and 1.2.0 shipped without this work.
