This issue was reviewed as part of the JIRA-migrated backlog triage (HUDI-9701). **Findings: the linked PR has not merged; keeping this open.** PR #13735 is still **open and unmerged**, so nothing has landed. The `status:pr-available` label is accurate and should stay. Note the live PR is titled 'Refactor upgrade downgrade logic', which is broader than this ticket - worth confirming the validation the description asks for is actually in it. The description gives the two commented-out `testBaseHoodieWriteClientUpgradeDecisionLogic` cases (table=8/write=6, autoUpgrade both ways) as the cases that can corrupt a table.
