This issue was reviewed as part of the JIRA-migrated backlog triage (HUDI-7254). **Findings: still open.** The body carries only JIRA boilerplate and the title is ambiguous, so what "prepare the data and schema" means concretely cannot be determined. There is nothing to verify or hand over. More significantly, the whole HUDI-7229 partial-update family predates the design that actually shipped: PR #13498 (`[HUDI-8401][RFC-97] Add partial update support with merge mode`) merged 2025-07-15 and established `PartialUpdateMode`. The siblings in this batch are #17213, #17220, #17243, #17244 and #17245, and #17115 (HUDI-9644) is already open to revisit `PartialUpdateMode` again in light of MERGE INTO encoding. Recommend a single pass over HUDI-7229's sub-tasks to close the ones RFC-97 subsumed and restate the rest against the delivered design, rather than triaging them one at a time.
